Myers had his 2 month check-up today. He weighs 9lbs. 8 oz. and is 21 inches long (10th percentile weight and 5th percentile height). He had three shots and one oral vaccine today. It is so hard to watch him get pricked and his little cry is just heartbreaking. He got over it once I was able to hold and soothe him, but it took me much longer to recover!
The doctor is very happy with his weight gain and says everything looks good. We are going to hold off on introducing cereals until he is close to 6 months so he can get the good breast milk filling up his little belly for as long as possible.
On another note, Honey and G-daddy came to babysit Myers last Saturday so George and I could go out on a date for George's 30th birthday. We went to see Slumdog Millionaire and to eat Sushi. It was nice to go out, but I did miss Myers. It was the longest that I had ever been away from him. I think it is easier for George to leave him with a babysitter since he is away from him everyday and is more used to it. Since I am with him all day everyday it is harder to be away from him!

Visiting
We have been very busy visiting with friends and family.
On February 15th Elizabeth and Nehemiah came to meet Myers. Myers was excited to meet his only cousin. Later that day Jenny, Mike, and Topher Joe came to visit and brought us a delicious meal.
Last Thursday, Myers and I went to see Grandma and Grandpa McCown. On Sunday, George, Myers, and I went to visit Honey and G-Daddy.

1 month check-up
Myers had his one month check-up on Monday. Could he really be one month old already?
He weighed 7lbs. 7 ozs and was 20 1/2 inches long on Monday. I bet he has already gained more weight though. Even though he seems so tiny compared to other babies his age, he seems so big compared to what he was when he was born! His pediatrician is happy with his growth and said everything is good with his development. He is still in his newborn clothes, but I think he will fit in his 0-3 month stuff in a week or two.
The pediatrician said I can let him wake me up at night instead of me waking him up every 3 or 4 hours. Since then, Myers let me sleep 4 1/2 hours one night, 6 hours one night, and 3 1/2 last night at a stretch. I used to think 6 hours of sleep at a stretch was awful, but now it seems like heaven!

Christmas Day and a finished nursery
George was not feeling well today, so instead of going anywhere Mom and Dad brought brunch and presents to us. In the afternoon, while George slept, we finished the final touches on the nursery! Mom and Dad are also coming over tomorrow to help us do some organizing of closets and the basement so everything is ready for Myers' arrival. We are so grateful for their help.
